BECOME A NEW CITIZEN
The town of Brandis offers many advantages compared to surrounding cities and medium-sized municipalities. Affordable rents, excursion destinations right on the town's doorstep, bathing lakes for the summer and forests and fields for long walks are just some of the benefits that the small town offers compared to Leipzig and other towns. Just 20 kilometres from Leipzig, the city centre is around half an hour distant. In addition, public transport links via bus ( www.regionalbusleipzig.de ) and regional train from Beucha ( www.bahn.de/p/view/index.shtml ) are also optimal.
The infrastructure is particularly appealing for young families. Alongside two child day-care facilities run by the town itself there is also one run by the Christian organisation CVJM e.V. On the school campus there is a primary school, a secondary school and a grammar school, a 3-court sports and multipurpose hall and a centrally-located school bus stop. All of these facilities are located in direct proximity to one another and can be reached from one another in less than 5 minutes.
In addition, in Beucha there is a primary school with 1-2 classes per year, which is also run by the town of Brandis.
As a lower-order centre, Brandis enjoys optimal services: in addition to a total of five supermarkets, one of which is in the district of Beucha, the town also benefits from a vibrant town centre with numerous retailers.
Brandis also has many different events and experiences to offer. Alongside activities such as the town music festival, the Wichtelmarkt and the classic car meet organised by the town of Brandis and the associations located here, the volunteer fire services in the districts of Brandis ( www.ff-brandis.de ), Beucha ( www.ffw-beucha.com ) and Polenz ( www.polenzer-feuerwehr.de ) are also highly committed and involved.
